September 11th

I saw a Robin red breast looking at me,

Bobbing its head and approaching to see,

As I whistled and beckoned it forward it flew and sat next to me.

A creature of Christmas, a reminder of heavenly delight, a bird that triggers good news within my soul and out of sight.

As the crash occurred and switches flipped, the Robin remained bobbing as I arose from my seat and felt a sudden blast of heat, from the Sun.

Why does everyone celebrate death? I thought.

When life is all around and we are given a choice to live or to die?

The grave is not the end!

The revolution of life, seasons come and seasons go, times change, but we decide.

We decide to celebrate death or life!

The thrill of murder, of killing, of termination is always here.

Why?

Why??

When we have been given the choice of the gift of life over death?

The Robin is ever present, the reminder is always there, we just have to listen and learn, and celebrate that which is wholesome and good, and just!

As I left the surgery, I did not notice the Robin, but in my mind and heart I had not forgotten him.

I felt better not worse, as life and to live is a joyful blessing!

I slowly walked back home.
