Courage and The Cave (The Journey)

Life begins with courage and baptism in an ordinary world,

in an ordinary world there is a challenge, a quest,

But, I refused the challenge out of fear and hesitation,

I refused out of isolation,

Insecurity meant I wasn't at my best,

I needed confidence,

a solution to the life test.

My guide gave me insight,

my faith gave me strength,

I overcame all fears,

But the threshold was crossed,

I wiped away my tears,

I had to reclaim my life,

Or all would be lost,

Somehow, someway, I had to win at all cost.

Tests, allies, enemies,

I needed to learn who I could trust,

I approached The Cave,

It's darkness startled and terrified me,

I felt small and weak, but I thrust deeper inside,

I tripped and stumbled,

I broke and I crumbled,

For years my mind would melt,

But I pushed and pressed on no matter how wretched I felt.

The road back was treacherous,

my resurrection came and I was cleansed,

But, I met my Shadow and the shadowy places of my past,

Met all those secrets face to face,

Death, life, good and evil,

And all I wanted was God's Grace,

Angels and demons came to me,

I had The Anchor and a map to trace,

My way back home with the elixir held high,

The elixir I now know,

I bid my past goodbye.

I knew the Truth,

I knew my strength,

I knew my self,

I had my feet firmly planted,

I had my health.

Purified I return home,

Back to the ordinary world,

But I'm transformed,

I'm winning!

But new!

Like in the beginning!
