The Weed

The childhood effect is long lasting and ingrained in the soul,

But, for your mind as an adult break free,

with wealth of knowledge and conscious stealth,

Set yourself free and be who you were born to be!

Challenge the trauma,

Adapt like the flora and fauna,

Understand behaviour, Understand the mind,

Be kind to yourself,

Forgive in time,

The past has passed,

You're over the line!

Look ahead with inspiration,

Wounds can heal,

Paint the pain out,

Draw it out,

Write the might you've gained,

Grow with the flow and glow,

Talk with resilience you've learnt,

Listen to music and birds, and magnificent words,

See the wonderment of life through great eyes!

You've been beaten down like a weed,

But, the strongest weeds can't be gotten rid of, can't be killed, won't be destroyed, they come back up, they grow again and again, and again, and with effort the weed will blossom, it will always be there, but through change the weed becomes an impenetrable force of outstanding beauty, from heart, to skin, to eyes, and most humbly wise!

You're not a weed no more,

You've grown up into the flower you are, with roots of strength and hope,

Which show in the petals, the face of a person who's been through nightmares,

But if you crack the code,

You won't erode,

Those corrosive people of the past don't last,

As giving to a child your unhappiness so they feel unhappy is weakness,

Weakness doesn't last long,

Like a seed without life they are forever dormant,

But your life flourishes from a nourished past and a nourished mindset,

Break the cycle of the weed,

And walk tall like a flower of the Sun,

Like the star that you are!

You've come far!
